We have over 200 whiskies to choose from at the moment. The whiskies are from Scotland, Ireland, Taiwan, Japan, Sweden and even Denmark. From well known whiskies to our own private casks, from the mass produced to single casks – you will find lots to choose from at Highlanders.
In our selection we have more than 20 single malt single cask whiskies from The Scottish Malt Whisky Society, we are a partner bar for the danish branch, and we regularly host members afternoons and tastings with the SMWS.
We have more than 100 rums to choose from including a wide selection from Plantation, who, in our opinion and that of many others, offer some of the most honest and finest rums available.
For those of you used to drinking more everyday rums we have some very special editions from more familiar names – some of which are generally not available in Denmark.
We have a large selection of both Jack Daniels & Jim Bean bourbons, along with some more classic bourbons such as Eagle Rare and Bullit.
Furthermore we have a couple of gins, one of which is from Scotland, The Botanist which is made from 22 different herbs from Islay and made in an old whisky still called “Ugly Betty”. This is by far our favourite gin, the fact it is made by Bruichladdich may have something to do with it, but mainly, its down to the taste.
Last year we increased the number of beer taps to 13, and even added a hand pump for cask ales.
Although we have a number of beers that are available each week, the rest change on a regular basis.
From Scotland we have the likes of Brew Dog & Bellhaven, from England we beers like Spitfire, real ciders from Westons, and we have the welsh Brains Black which is a great stout with lots of body. We have premium bottles from the likes of Fuller, as well as some of their more well known offerings such as London Pride.
Chimay on draft has a regular tap, as does our favourite local brewery Ebeltoft Gaarbryggeri.
Our bottled beers come from all over the world, from danish craft beers like To Øl and Mikkeller, Swedish offerings from the likes of Omnipollo and Dutch beers from Jopen.
Belgian Trappist beers, German wheat beers and many other european offerings can be found in our fridges.
Our “house pilsner” on tap is Budějovický Budvar , usually the non-chill filtered variety, and the bottles such as Lion Lager from Sri Lanka.
…but best of all, we have the staff to help you find the drink that suits you best, often each visit to the bar will result in you trying something else !
Enjoying your drink responsibly comes easily when you are enjoying a conversation with friends – be it about the different beers you are all drinking, or just catching up with what everyone is doing !
